Itinerary
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our team will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in and refreshments, there will be a short briefing about the trek and climb ahead. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner with your climbing group.
Today we finalize permits, check gear, and prepare logistics for the climb. If time allows, we’ll also visit a few UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the Kathmandu Valley, such as Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) or Pashupatinath Temple.
A thrilling mountain flight takes us to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. We begin our trek with a gentle descent through alpine forests and local Sherpa villages, reaching Phakding by afternoon.
We follow the Dudh Koshi River, crossing suspension bridges and entering Sagarmatha National Park. After a steep ascent, we arrive at Namche Bazaar, the bustling heart of the Khumbu region.
To adapt to the altitude, we hike to the Everest View Hotel or Khumjung village. Both offer stunning mountain views and a glimpse into Sherpa life. The rest of the day can be spent exploring Namche’s cafes, shops, and markets.
We head northwest toward Thame, a quiet Sherpa village with ancient monasteries and fewer trekkers. The trail is scenic, following a winding path along hillsides with views of Kongde Ri and Teng Kangpoche.
The path gradually climbs through isolated settlements and yak pastures. Lungden offers excellent views and sets the stage for the ascent over Renjo La Pass.
We begin early for the tough ascent to Renjo La, one of the most beautiful passes in the region. From the top, we’re rewarded with panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and the Gokyo Lakes. The descent leads us into the stunning Gokyo Valley.
Today we climb Gokyo Ri for one of the most breathtaking panoramic views in the Himalayas. From the summit, you’ll see four 8,000-meter peaks. After descending, enjoy a relaxed afternoon by the turquoise Gokyo Lakes.
We walk along the Ngozumpa Glacier’s edge to Thagnak, a small settlement at the base of Cho La Pass. The terrain is rocky but offers beautiful views of the surrounding ice formations and peaks.
A challenging but rewarding day, we start early to cross the icy Cho La Pass. Crampons may be required depending on conditions. After reaching the top, we descend carefully to the grassy valley of Dzongla.
We trek a short distance along gentle trails to reach Lobuche. The views of Nuptse and Pumori dominate the landscape. This is the last village before Everest Base Camp.
From Lobuche, we follow the rocky glacial trail to Gorak Shep. After a short break, we continue to Everest Base Camp, where climbers prepare for their summit attempts. After experiencing the base camp’s energy, we return to Gorak Shep for the night.
An early morning climb to Kala Patthar rewards us with a golden sunrise over Mount Everest. After descending, we head to Lobuche Base Camp, where we meet our climbing team and prepare for the summit push.
We ascend to Lobuche High Camp along a steep but manageable trail. Once at camp, we rest, review climbing techniques, and prepare gear for the summit attempt. Early dinner and overnight in tents.
We begin the summit push around midnight. The climb involves glacier travel, fixed ropes, and some steep ice or snow sections. After reaching the summit and enjoying the phenomenal views, we descend carefully to Base Camp.
This extra day is built into the itinerary to accommodate weather delays or provide flexibility for the summit attempt.
We begin our descent, walking through the beautiful Sherpa villages of the Khumbu, including Dingboche. The trail eventually leads us to Pangboche, home to the region’s oldest monastery.
Depending on your preference and flight timing, we descend all the way to Lukla or break it at Namche. The journey is a celebration of your successful summit. If you reach Lukla, enjoy the final night with your team. (Flight to Kathmandu may occur on Day 20 depending on weather/conditions.)
