The Mardi Himal Trek is a short and scenic journey to the base of Mardi Himal (5,587m), located in the shadow of Machapuchare (Fishtail Peak) in the Annapurna region. This 5-day trek is ideal for those seeking a quieter route that delivers dramatic alpine scenery, intimate cultural experiences, and rewarding high-altitude views without a long commitment.
The trail ascends through lush forests, traditional Gurung villages, and peaceful ridgelines, eventually reaching Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500m) — with spectacular views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machapuchare, and Mardi itself. It's suitable for beginner to moderate trekkers and is one of Nepal’s best short trekking options.

Itinerary
Begin with a 1.5-hour drive to Kande. Start trekking uphill through Australian Camp and Pothana with views of Annapurna and Machapuchare. Continue through lush rhododendron forest to reach Forest Camp. Overnight in teahouse.
Ascend steadily through mossy forests and open ridgelines. Pass Low Camp with glimpses of Machapuchare, and climb further to High Camp. The air gets cooler, and the views expand. Overnight in teahouse.
Start early for the rewarding hike to Mardi Himal Base Camp. Walk along narrow ridges with breathtaking views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machapuchare. Return to High Camp for overnight stay.
Descend through forests and local farming settlements to reach the peaceful village of Sidhing. A quieter and culturally rich alternative to the main trail. Overnight in teahouse.
Take a scenic jeep drive back to Pokhara. End of the trek. Relax and enjoy the rest of the day at Lakeside Pokhara or continue your onward journey.
